Where to get a free cup of coffee on National Coffee Day
There’s nothing like the smell of a fresh pot of coffee brewing in the morning. Well, maybe the smell of bacon, but today we’re talking about coffee!
Why, you might ask? Well, dear reader, that’s because it’s nearly National Coffee Day (Sept. 29). I’m pretty partial to coffee and drink the recommended max on a daily basis (hey, I’m somewhat responsible). Come Thursday, all bets are off and I’m probably going to drink four times the coffee I should.
For all of you coffee lovers out there like me, I’ve put together a little list of places around Michiana where you can get a free cup of Joe (or get good deals and support a good cause) on Thursday.
Not strictly a National Coffee Day deal, but Caribou is offering a free medium cup of brewed coffee to anyone who purchases a 1 lb. bag of Amy’s Blend from Sept. 26 to Oct. 2. The blend of coffee is named after Amy Erickson, the original roastmaster for Caribou Coffee, who passed away after a battle with cancer in 1995.
In celebration of the company’s 66th anniversary, you’ll be able to grab a medium-sized cup of hot coffee for only 66 cents. The company will also have a Snapchat Geofilter available at their stores where you can share your love of coffee with the world.
The doughnut chain will be offering a free original glazed doughnut and a free 12-ounce coffee to customers at participating locations across the country.
Pick up a free small cup of coffee (or hot tea or a cappuccino) on Thursday with this coupon.
The Seattle-based company is doing things a little differently for National Coffee Day this year. The coffee store will expand its effort to provide 20 million coffee trees to farmers in Mexico beleaguered by coffee rust. For every cup of Mexico Chiapas coffee, the company will donate a tree on behalf of the customer. Starbucks has, to date, raised enough funds to donate 18 million trees.
You can celebrate two different ways at Whole Foods on Thursday. On Sept. 29, Allegro Coffee will donate $1 to Whole Planet Foundation for every cup of drip coffee that’s sold at Whole Foods. The foundation is a non-profit organization that gives microloans to people all over the world to help them create or expand a home-based business.
If you’re a lover of pumpkin spice lattes, you can download the Whole Foods Market App to get $1 off a 16-ounce cup from Sept. 28 through Nov. 1. Two flavors of PSL are being offered this year, classic and caramel.
