There’s nothing as American as apple pie, except maybe one that’s 7-feet across.
It’s undoubtedly one of the biggest draws to the Nappanee Apple Festival, and it returns again this year.
The 41st annual festival returns from Sept. 15 to 18 in downtown Nappanee. The town will bubble with life as live entertainment, rides, apple treats and a parade fill the days. The air may not be crisp just yet, but that hasn’t stopped apple season from approaching.

The festival will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday; 9 a.m. on Friday and Sunday; and at 6 a.m. on Saturday.
The massive pie — weighing in at 600 pounds — will again be housed at El Cielito Lindo Mexican Restaurant, where it’s baked.
