Lagers, stouts and ales, oh my!

The annual Potawatomi Zoo Brew returns Saturday, Oct. 1, with a long list of breweries on tap.

According to the zoo’s website, the annual fundraiser will run from 7 to 10 p.m. on Oct. 1 at the zoo, 500 S. Greenlawn Ave., South Bend. VIP ticket holders will be able to get in an hour early, letting them sample brews and food before the crowds start.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online; by calling 574-288-4639 Monday through Friday; or by visiting an open admission gate. Tickets may be bought online until Sept. 26; via phone until noon on Sept. 29; or at the gate until they’re sold out on Oct. 1.

Prices are $35 for Zoological Society members (limit 4); $40 for non-members; and $60 for VIPs. Included in the ticket is a commemorative 4-ounce mug, unlimited beer samples and food sampling. VIPs will also get a free pair of bottle-opener sunglasses.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward wildlife conservation, naturalistic exhibits and education programs at the zoo.

Live music will be performed by And The Kids, a band based out of Northampton, Mass., and Palm, a group from Philadelphia.
