Summer is the perfect time to enjoy an ice cold drink in the great outdoors.

Fittingly, National Refreshment Day is July 28, a day to celebrate the warm weather (hopefully nice) and a cool beverage.

According to National Day Calendar, the day was originally created in May 2015 by Traveler Beer Co. in Burlington, Vt., to honor all of life’s refreshments on the fourth Thursday in July. That’s an idea we can get behind.

You can always celebrate National Refreshment Day by heading out for a pint with your friends, but if staying in is more your thing, we’ve got a few recipes to quench your thirst.

This year, National Refreshment Day also falls on National Milk Chocolate Day so we’ve got a chocolate-mint shamrock shake recipe so you can double dip on your national day celebrations.
