Big Brothers Big Sisters of Elkhart County is looking for amateur beer and wine makers who want to uncork their potential this May.

The organization is looking for interested homebrewers to compete in its third annual Bottlecaps & Corks competition from 3 to 7 p.m. May 21 at Wellfield Botanic Gardens. Submitted brews will be judged by a panel of local experts, as well as attendees of the competition, with winners being named for People’s Choice and Judges Competition, according to a press release.

A single registration fee of $25 will be charged to homebrewers who submit fewer than three entries. The registration fee is waived if homebrewers submit three or more entries. There is no limit to the number of entries that may submit. Homebrewers are required to be available to serve their beverage during the event and they may bring one guest to assist.

Registration requirements and guidelines may be found on the Big Brothers Big Sisters website at www.bbbselkhart.org.

Presale tickets for general admission will be available for $35 beginning March 1. Tickets will include entry to the event, samples of beers and wines, live music and a tasting glass. There also will be tickets available for designated drivers and VIPs. Guests must be 21 years and older to attend.

For additional information call the BBBS office at 574-535-9024 or email info@bbbselkhart.org.
