Flavor Freeze opens Monday for it’s 50th season

Flavor Freeze will be opening for its 50th season of selling ice cream on Monday, Feb. 22.

To celebrate, Flavor Freeze will be adding a few new items to their menu including a new flavor, cookie monster and some new combo meals.

The stand in both locations will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week until summer, then it will be open later.

Chubby Trout moving to a new location in Elkhart this summer

Cam Snyder, owner of Chubby Trout, announced that his restaurant will be moving to a new location this summer. The restaurant will be located at at 3421 Plaza Court, in the space formerly occupied by the Golden Egg Pancake House west of the toll road plaza. 

The restaurant will seat more, have a larger kitchen and be open seven days a week instead of six. Snyder will also be adding some new features to the restaurant and menu with a sushi bar and Chubby Fresh Express, a quick meal to take away the wait for your food. 

The Black Crow on Main is expanding

The Black Crow on Main in downtown Elkhart will be expanding into the former Skinner the Printer storefront. 

The owner of Black Crow, Patrick Hopman, will be taking down the wall between the two storefronts to create more space for vending booths. Hopman plans to fill the new store with 20 to 25 booths for vendors to sell goods year-round.

The store is open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday. The café and gourmet shop inside the store are open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday.
