The greatest chefs in the 574 are assembling to raise money for the Michiana YMCA.
Restaurants in South Bend, Mishawaka and Granger are offering special dishes this month for the sixth annual Greatest Chefs of Michiana competition, which had already raised $19,277 for the organization as of Tuesday.
The specials will be available throughout February and at a gala at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Century Center, 120 S. St. Joseph St. in South Bend.
After tasting, fans can vote for their favorite dish online for a fee — $37 pays for one vote, $185 for 5 votes. Tickets to the gala are $125 each. The proceeds go toward scholarships for YMCA programs like swim lessons and camp.
