New Year's Eve 2015: Places to celebrate the new year with food, music and entertainment

Making last minute plans for what to do to ring in the new year? We’ve got your guide of some places for food, music and entertainment in Michiana that can help you start the New Year off. All events are Dec. 31 unless otherwise noted.

CELEBRATIONS

Amish Acres, 1600 W. Market St., Nappanee, will begin the evening at 7:30 p.m. with the Round Barn Theatre’s last performance of “Mary Poppins,” the cast will return at 11 p.m. for Amish Acres’ 16th annual Cabaret, featuring music followed by a countdown to 2016. The evening will end with a fireworks display at the end of the night. Guests can enjoy finger food, chocolate and champagne punch. Visitors who have lodging will be served breakfast the next morning. $75 per adult without lodging; $115 with lodging. Information: 574-773-4188.

Bent Oak Golf Club, 3610 Bent Oak Trail, Elkhart, will have a New Year’s Eve party with dinner from 5:30 to 9 p.m. featuring filet mignon, lobster tail and more. Special desserts and music from Dick and Debbie will be from 8 p.m. to midnight. Reservations: 574-522-3787.

A New Year’s extravaganza will be at the Blue Gate Theater, 175 N. Van Buren St., Shipshewana, with live entertainment from Dailey & Vincent, High Road II and Jimmy Travis. The afternoon show will be from 2 to 5 p.m., with dining from 5 to 7 p.m. The evening show will be from 9 p.m. to midnight, with dining from 6 to 8 p.m. Information: 888-447-4725.

A New Year’s Eve Latin dance party will be at 9 p.m. at Blue Heron at Blackthorn Golf Club, 5440 Nimtz Parkway, South Bend, with a champagne toast, appetizers and guest DJ Carlos Cinta from Chicago. Basic lessons start at 9 p.m. and music continues until 2 a.m. Advance tickets $15; door tickets $20.

Ring in the New Year at Four Winds Casino, 58700 M-51 South, Dowagiac, Mich., with cash giveaways, entertainment and party favors throughout the night. Starts at noon.

The Palais Royale, 105 W. Colfax Ave., hosts a New Year’s Eve dinner and dance party with the 18-piece Tom Milo Big Band. Hors d’oeuvres will be at 7:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 8 pm.., dessert at 8:30 p.m., with dancing to follow after. $100 for dinner and dance ticket.

The Sunny 101.5 New Year’s Eve Party will begin 8 p.m. at the Morris Inn at Notre Dame, 1399 N. Notre Dame Ave., South Bend, with life music, hors d’oeuvres, party favors and live music from the Whistle Pigs and more. Cost is $225 for a party of two, which includes two drinks tickets and $25 dining credit for breakfast at Sorin’s.

A New Year’s celebration at ZB Falcons Nest 80, 323 S. Sheridan St., South Bend, features Polish dinner, music from Soundsation and open bar. Begins at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails, dinner at 7:30 p.m., music at 9 p.m. and a champagne toast at midnight.

 

FOOD

Feast on a New Year’s buffet beginning at 6 p.m. at Weiss Gasthaus, 115 Dixie Way N., South Bend. Doors open at 5 p.m. Information: 574-272-4287.

 

NIGHTLIFE AND MUSIC

Cheers Pub, 103 S. Dixie Way, South Bend, will host a New Year’s Eve bash at 10 p.m. with Forever Gypsy. Information: 574-387-4642.

LaSalle Kitchen and Tavern, 115 W. Colfax Ave., South Bend, will host a New Year’s Eve bash with music from Anarchist Funk Bros. at 9:30 p.m.

Red Alert will perform 9:30 p.m. at Phoenix Bar and Grill, 101 Lincolnway W, Mishawaka. Information: 574-257-8876.

Smokestack Brew, 100 Center St., Mishawaka, will host a New Year’s Eve bash with music from Blammo, a champagne toast, multimedia countdown, hors d’oeuvres buffet and dinner reservation packages.
