Buffalo Wild Wings is in the midst of construction on a new sports bar and grill on the north side of Elkhart.
The franchise, located at 522 E. Windsor Ave., is joining a group of restaurants near the I-80 Toll Road by early March.

Originally set to open by the end of the year, Gene Stauffer, co-owner of the restaurant, said he is looking at a March 1 opening if construction stays on track. Construction workers from Ancon Construction Co. are trying to finish the exterior before weather hinders labor.
Once that is completed, they will work on the barren interior, which will eventually have room to seat about 220 people. The 6,000-square-foot building is designed in a “stadia” style, a new concept by Buffalo Wild Wings, Stauffer said.
Along with finishing the construction and getting the equipment in sometime in February, Stauffer said they plan to hire about 75 employees at the Elkhart location.
Other local locations of the franchise are at 1829 Rieth Blvd., Goshen; 4343 N. Grape Road, Mishawaka; and 326 W. Ireland Road, South Bend.
