Last year, more than 6,000 pancakes were served on Pancake Day and this year, Salvation Army hopes to raise more than $80,000.
“Between Pancake Day and the fundraising done at Christmas, The Salvation Army raises a majority of the money they use for their programs for the year,” Mary Kay Beer, chairman of the Pancake Day committee, said in the news release. “The more we are able to raise now, will be that much more that The Salvation Army will be able to use later in the year to help our neighbors.”
