Veterans Day 2015: Free food offered to veterans from local restaurants

Wednesday is Veterans Day and numerous eateries are offering free food and drinks to those who have served in the military.

Veterans could get breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts — all for free — by making a stop at these establishments.

Texas Roadhouse

What: Free lunch for veterans and active members in the United States military. Retired or former United States military can choose one of 10 entrees, including a 6-ounce sirloin and two sides plus a choice of any non-alcoholic beverage during lunch.

How to get it: Show a military ID or other proof of service.

Martin’s Super Market

What: Free Honor meal including fried chicken, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, a roll, a hot or cold drink, milk, ice cream and cake from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. No carry-out allowed.

How to get it: Show a military ID or other proof of service at the checkout.

Ben’s Pretzels

What: Free jumbo soft pretzel for veterans and active-duty military members at select locations in Indiana and Michigan. That includes Ben’s locations in Goshen, Lafayette, Shipshewana and Grand Rapids, Mich., as well as locations at Concord Mall in Elkhart and University Park Mall in Mishawaka.

How to get it: Show military ID or other proof of service at the counter.

IHOP

What: From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. IHOP will offer free Red, White, and Blue pancakes to veterans and active duty military.

Olive Garden

What: Free meal for all active-duty military and military veterans.

How to get it: Provide proof of service.

Red Robin

What: Veterans and active duty military get a free Red’s Tavern Double burger and Bottomless Fries.

Starbucks

What: Free tall hot brewed coffees to veterans, active-duty military, and their spouses.

How to get it: Show proof of service.

Denny’s

What: All active, non-active, and retired military personnel can get a free Build Your Own Grand Slam Breakfast from 5 a.m. to noon.

How to get it: Show military ID.

Red Lobster

What: Free appetizer or dessert on Monday, Nov. 9 through Thursday, Nov. 12  for active duty military, reserve, and military veterans.

How to get it: Proof of service.

Golden Corral

What: Any person who has ever served in the U.S. military or is on current active duty can get free meals and a beverage.

How to get it: No Identification needed.

Outback Steakhouse

What: Free Bloomin’ Onion and beverage for all military personnel.

How to get it: Show military ID.

LongHorn Steakhouse

What: Free Texas Tonions and non-alcoholic beverages to veterans.

How to get it: Show a military ID or other proof of service.

Bonefish Grill

What: All active and retired service members will receive a complimentary Bang Bang Shrimp.

How to get it: Show military ID.

LaSalle Grill

What: All active and retired service members will receive a free entree of top sirloin, Amish chicken, or salmon and a choice of a non-alcoholic drink.

Logan Roadhouse

What: Veterans get a free dessert.

Bar Louie

What: All active duty military and veterans get a free entree, up to $12.95 value.

Bob Evans

What: All you can eat hotcakes for active duty military and veterans.

How to get it: Show military ID or proof of service.

Chili’s

What: Chili’s is offering all military veterans past and present their choice of any lunch combo, or your choice of a dinner meal from a select menu, including any full-size flatbread.

Little Caesars

What: Free HOT-N-READY Lunch Combo to all US Armed Forces veterans and active military members.

How to get it: Show proof of service.

Krispy Kreme

What: Free doughnut and small coffee

How to get it: Tell the staff that you’re a veteran or currently serving in the military.
