Seed to Feed harvests more than 7 tons of spuds from annual event
The potato harvest might be over for the year, but there’s still work to be done.
With the help of volunteer hands, Seed to Feed harvested 15,300 pounds of potatoes during its fourth annual harvest last week, according to a newsletter from Seed to Feed.

Between Tuesday, Oct. 6 and Wednesday, Oct. 7, folks put in more than 150 volunteer hours plucking the potatoes from the tilled ground, co-coordinator Natasha Weisenbeck said.
Now that all of the potatoes are gathered, volunteers are still needed during the next two weeks to clean and bag the spuds at Church Community Services, 907 Oakland Ave., Elkhart, according to the newsletter.
