The goal is to pass the $17,000 raised for the organization earlier this year, according to a news release from Ben’s Soft Pretzels.
There will be other deals during the month, or “Pretzeltober,” as Ben’s calls it. Customers can enjoy three jumbo soft pretzels and three dipping sauces for $10, or a happy hour special that includes a $2 jumbo soft pretzel with dip between 2 and 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

The organization’s annual potato harvest is Tuesday, Oct. 6 and Wednesday, Oct. 7. The program partners with a local farmer each year to harvest potatoes to help those in need.
Harvest came a bit early this year, so volunteers are still needed to pluck potatoes from the tilled field. The farmer expects to yield about 40,000 pounds of potatoes.
This year’s field is at 62535 C.R. 37, Goshen. Harvest begins at 9 a.m. and goes until sunset, though volunteers aren’t expected to work all day.
