Dixie in South Bend is no more.
The restaurant at 808 E. Colfax Ave., opened in February 2015 and specialized in food from the American south, a nod to chef and co-owner Aislin Keith’s New Orleans roots, according to previous Flavor 574 reporting.
During the last few weeks, Keith decided to shutter the restaurant to focus on her health.
The building isn’t up for sale yet, though. Keith is hoping another restauranteur will contact her to set up a lease agreement, Heidi Prescott with the South Bend Tribune reports.
A new cocktail bar is set to open in Goshen by year’s end.
Common Spirits announced Thursday, Sept. 3 on Facebook that it would open at 111 E. Lincoln Ave., serving up craft cocktails and other offerings.
Ryan and Jami Hawkins are in the process of renovating the space and hope to open by mid-December.
Ryan said there will be about eight or so beers on tap and probably five or six signature cocktails with nary a pre-made mixer or syrup.
