A new cocktail bar is set to open along East Lincoln Avenue in Goshen by the end of the year.

Common Spirits announced on its Facebook page it will open up the cocktail bar at 111 E. Lincoln Ave., in Goshen. They’re in the process of remodeling the space and co-owner Ryan Hawkins hopes to open the doors to the cocktail bar by mid-December.

The space will be able to seat about 40 people and would include a large table towards the back for friends who’d “want to go out on the town,” he said.

“We wanted something that had a warm feeling,” he said. “With all the woodwork and the wood floor, the old-style downtown building, we kind of fell in love with it. It worked out perfect as far as the timing as far as that space being available.”

The cocktail bar will be within a block of local businesses and venues such as Venturi, The Soapy Gnome, Blank Space and Giving Tree Massage.

Ryan co-owns the cocktail bar with Jami Hawkins, and they’re in the process of figuring out the menu. When they open up, Ryan said they’ll have about eight or so beers on tap and probably five or six signature cocktails among other offerings.

“We’re going to have no pre-made mixers,” Ryan said. “It’ll all be made in house. No bottles of whatever mix, sour mix or whatever. We’ll be making everything in house fresh.”

The Goshen couple announced plans to open the cocktail bar earlier this year. They even started a successful Indiegogo fundraising campaign in April which saw them raise $1,000 more than their $15,000 goal.
