There’s a crispness in the air that reminds us summer is on its way out, but there’s still time to hang on to some of the best things about the season.
Close out the week with a night out, starting with dinner in downtown South Bend.

Keep it light with some small plates from Fiddler’s Hearth, 127 N. Main St. You could easily split an appetizer and grab a beer while you’re there.
Don’t worry about driving from Main Street to Four Winds Field, 501 W. South St. If you give yourself enough time before the game at 7:35 p.m., it’s about a 15 minute walk to the ballpark.
If you save room from dinner, grab a pretzel or hot dog at the ballpark, there’s even something for vegetarians and vegans. It’s hardly a game without some sort of classic ballpark food.
