Cajun Creole restaurant Yats pushes back opening for South Bend location to September
SOUTH BEND — It looks like northern Indiana will have to wait a little while longer for another taste of the Big Easy.
Indianapolis-based Yats Cajun Creole Restaurant is expected to open one of its newest locations at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at Eddy Street Commons in South Bend, CEO Regina Vuscovich said.
The fast casual restaurant was aiming to open by mid-August, according to previous Flavor 574 reporting.
The restaurant will serve “Louisiana and New Orleans-inspired” food, founder Joe Vuscovich told Flavor 574 in July. There will be eight to 10 dishes to choose from each day, with classics like red beans and rice and jambalaya remaining a constant. It’ll have a rotating menu of 25 to 30 dishes.
There will only be one of two prices at Yats Cajun Creole Restaurant. It’s $6.50 for a full order of one dish and $7.50 for a half-and-half order of two dishes.
