Local chefs, artists and performers will converge on downtown South Bend this weekend for Art Beat.

More than 200 visual artists, performers and chefs will line Michigan Street on Saturday, Aug. 29, for the annual event, according to the Art Beat website.
The Culinary Art Village section of the festival will feature local food shops and restaurants, according to the website. There will also be two beer gardens: City Wide Liquors and South Bend Brew Werks.

Some of the restaurants that will be whipping up samples for the event are:
- Javier’s Bistro
- Cafe at the Overlook
- Chicory Cafe
- Purple Porch Co-op
- Unity Gardens, partnered with the American Culinary Federation South Bend Chapter
Throughout the afternoon and into the evening, local acts and performing groups will take to one of five stages, according to the website.
