Pumpkin Spice Latte will include real pumpkin this year, could be released Sept. 8

Flannel shirts, changing leaves and chilly weather are sure signs of fall.

But not as much as the arrival of the Pumpkin Spice Latte for fans of the popular drink.

Earlier this week, Starbucks announced a big change with its popular drink, which will feature real pumpkin puree in its syrup, according to a news release from the company. The syrup also contains sugar, some fruit and vegetable juice for color and condensed skim milk, therefore it is not suitable for vegans.

In the past, the syrup used pumpkin spices and flavors to copy the taste, USA Today reports

And it won’t be much longer until PSL fans can wrap their hands around the warm, foamy drink. CNBC reports Starbucks will release the pumpkin spice latte nationwide Sept. 8, with some stores launching an early release Sept. 4.
