Keep your eyes peeled for a baked potato bar opening in Mishawaka this fall.
“Why bread?” asks the franchise website. “Put it on a potato!”

Load A Spud replaces Sassy’s Cafe, which moved to a new location in Granger earlier this month.
The potato bar offers specials like the Meat Lover’s Potato, which has chicken, bacon, ground beef and steak, as well as build-your-own potatoes with vegan options. Prices range from $5 to $8.99, according to the online menu.
Steak and cheese, shrimp alfredo, cheese broccoli and meat lover’s potatoes are all best sellers, Walker said.
Load A Spud will hire at least eight to 10 people to staff the Mishawaka location, Walker said, but he’s not yet sure how many new employees they will need.
“We like to be in college towns,” Walker said. “It made sense to come to the area Notre Dame was in.”
The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based chain also opened a restaurant in Benton Harbor in April.
