South Bend Zombie Walk features food vendors, entertainment to help Food Bank of Northern Indiana

Zombies are invading South Bend to fight hunger here at home. 

The seventh annual South Bend Zombie Walk is Saturday, Aug. 22. Little monsters can donate non-perishable items to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana at the event and can enjoy a day of vendors, entertainment, food and more, according to a news release from the South Bend Zombie Walk.

Noon to 9 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 22 
Howard Park, South Bend 

Event is free, participants are asked to bring non-perishable food donations for the Food Bank of Northern Indiana.

The walk starts at 6 p.m., according to the release, but there will be entertainment throughout the day, local music, food vendors, makeup artists and also a brain eating contest. 

There will be a Kids Zone with games, mural painting, a coloring contest and a magician, according to the release. 

The event is an opportunity for the food bank to collect enough food to make it through the holiday season.
