Gardening for Life: Tend your garden

By: Jim Carpenter

Angelle Barbazon/The Elkhart Truth

In the garden, as in life,

each season must have its trial.

But with love and careful tending,

there might be growth all the while.

In times of drought or too much rain,

it might seem that all is lost.

And all the work that we must do,

is hardly worth the cost.

The pests that we encounter,

the struggles that we bear

are all a part of the garden,

and the journey that we share.

But for all the work that we must do,

there is no guarantee.

Yet with time and trial and effort,

a bountiful harvest it can be.

Again I say, tend your garden,

may it bring you much delight.

And may a fruitful yield provide

many blessings in your life.
