NILES — Craft beer and wine tastings, bouncy houses and a cornhole tournament are just a few of the ways festivalgoers can enjoy one last summer hurrah before back-to-school season.

Niles Trails and Ales Festivus 2015 is Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 1 and 2 at Niles Riverfront Park in downtown Niles, Mich.

The event takes over what used to be Niles Riverfest and boasts new activities like a barbecue contest, plus old favorites like the car show and dragon boat races, according to a news release.

The weekend kicks off with a party Friday night, July 31, with free hot dogs, lemonade and chips from 5 to 8 p.m., with a free movie in the park to follow, according to the Trails and Ales website

For the 21-and-over crowd, the Niles Chamber is hosting a craft beer and wine tasting from 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday, according to the Trails and Ales website. Tickets are $25 available online

Local artisans will also set up booths during the festival to sell handmade goods and crafts, according to the news release.

The festival and parking for the festival is free, according to the news release.
