The chance to sip local suds alongside the St. Joseph River will soon come to South Bend.
More than 100 craft beer and wine selections will be available at Best of the Bend Wine & Brew Fest, taking place from 6 to 9 p.m. July 17 on Island Park behind South Bend’s Century Center, 120 S. St. Joseph St.
General admission tickets are $35 and include a sampling mug. VIP tickets are $50 and, in addition to a sampling mug, grant early-bird access to tastings beginning at 5 p.m. A designated driver ticket costs $10. Sodas, water and food will be available for purchase.
Tickets can be purchased online and claimed at the Island Park entrance upon arrival.
Proceeds from the 21-and-over event will benefit Kernan’s Heroes, a division of Life Treatment Centers dedicated to providing housing and substance abuse treatment for area veterans.
DJ Chuck Fry will keep feet shuffling throughout the festival’s duration until 10 p.m., an hour after sampling is scheduled to end.
