A Hooters restaurant is set to open again in Mishawaka, a Hooters representative confirmed.
Fans of the sports bar chain won’t have long to wait — the new location could be ready by October, according to Mark Whittle, senior vice president of global development at Hooters.
The new restaurant would be at 205 W. Day Road, Mishawaka assistant city planner Greg Shearon said, the same location as the Hooters that closed in 2011.

“The new location will now be owned by Hooters of America and will feature the new image of Hooters,” Whittle said in an email, describing “contemporary interior and exterior design elements featuring sleek finishes, modernized furniture and more comfortable seating.”
An architect submitted plans for a Hooters location to the Mishawaka Planning and Development Department on Monday, June 29, Shearon said.

Developer Louis Schriber III considered opening a Potbelly Sandwich Shop in the former Hooters building last year, even getting zoning approval for a drive-through. The restaurant company decided against it and submitted plans for a restaurant on North Main Street in Mishawaka instead, according to the South Bend Tribune.
