47 Twelve Juice Bar in Winona Lake celebrates grand opening

A new juice bar is making a splash in Kosciusko County.

47 Twelve opened in Winona Lake Tuesday, June 16, according to a news release from the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce.

1101 E. Canal St., Winona Lake

Hours: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Saturday

The name comes from a scripture found in the Bible’s Ezekiel 47:12, according to the release, and highlights fruit being used for food and healing. Living that mission is part of owner Eric Wolfe’s way of doing business.

Wolfe, 32, said he is trying to get produce as local and as organic as he can, but any of the cold-press juices that use non-organic ingredients will be marked, he said.

Wolfe is hoping the juice bar isn’t only a space for juice, either. He’s hoping he can work with instructors to bring midweek yoga classes to the space, he said. He already has an instructor and class set for Saturdays, he told Flavor 574, and has ideas to possibly bring poetry readings or music to the juice bar.

“I want to cultivate an environment where people are satisfied not just with a good nightlife, but with a great day and morning life,” he said.

Wolfe also hopes to donate money from the business to local charities, though he said he hasn’t determined what charities those will be yet.

“Above all, I want it to be a pay-it-forward concept,” he said. “When I’m 60, I don’t want to talk to people who say ’I wish I would have done that thing when I was twenty or thirty,’” he said.

Though Wolfe has a lot of ideas swirling around in the business’ beginning stages, he encourages people to visit him and ask questions to help get him thinking, whether it’s about product or purpose.

“Without the fingerprints of God’s guidance all over this project,” he said, “I wouldn’t be here. Systematically, I saw the evidence of His direction, provision and guidance and it would be bad to not give credit where credit is due for me. I want people to know that.”

47 Twelve is located at 1101 E. Canal St., Winona Lake, The Garden at Cerulean. It is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
