The grills are probably well fired up at this point, but summer doesn’t officially start for another week. And with summer comes the official start of patio and festival season, plus…

Downtown Elkhart restaurants will extend hours, offer specials for Elkhart Jazz Festival

Thousands of visitors will converge on downtown Elkhart next week for the annual Elkhart Jazz Festival. This year’s festival boasts six stages, 30 performing groups and a whole lot of good eating June 19-21.

There are nine vendors and a pop-up restaurant planned for this year’s festival, so jazz fans will get more than their taste of fair food, according to previous Flavor 574 reporting, but other restaurants in downtown Elkhart will be adjusting and welcoming guests.

Artisan, 523 Tap & Grill, The Electric Brew and New Paradigm Brewing Co., are just a few of the downtown eateries rolling out specials. For hours and deals, see the full list on Flavor 574

Regional voting begins for Northern Indiana Pizza Wars

And then there were seven. Plus one wildcard that is back for a second chance.

Northern Indiana Pizza Wars voting is rapidly whittling down the list of who is in and who is out. The first of three regional voting rounds kicked off Friday, June 12 and you have until Sunday, June 21, to cast your vote, according to previous Flavor 574 reporting.

The competition gets even a little more tough as Windy City travel guide author and journalist Kate Silver (@K8Silver on Twitter) made her way around northern Indiana to select a Critic’s Choice winner.

You can vote online through the Northern Indiana Tourism Development Commission and see bracket match-ups on Flavor 574. And speaking of pizza…

Primo introduces new patio, fresh menu and lower pizza prices

Primo Italian Eatery in downtown Elkhart is looking a tad different.

Five picnic tables sit in a fenced in area just outside the restaurant, 201 S. Marion St., which can seat up to 20 people, according to previous Flavor 574 reporting.

The menu is looking a little different, too, with flatbread pizzas, pasta bowls and new sandwiches.

For more about the new prices and offerings, see the full story on Flavor 574.
