Elkhart's Salute to Veterans dinner features big-band era entertainment
A dinner theater event during Elkhart’s Salute to Veterans on Saturday, May 16, will pay homage to the USO shows of the World War II era.

A buffet dinner catered by Callahan’s in Elkhart will feature roasted turkey, baked ham, stuffing, green beans, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, pasta salad and coleslaw.

Doors open 6 p.m., dinner served 7 p.m. Tickets: $60 for dinner and show

The evening’s entertainment will include ’40s-era tunes from The Tom Milo Big Band and The Everly Sisters and punchlines from comedian Lynn Roberts, who will pay tribute to laugh legends Bob Hope, Red Skelton and Jack Benny. A vintage war plane will also be on display.
Salute to Veterans commemorates the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II and the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the Vietnam War.
Proceeds from the event will help fund the 2016 Elkhart Air Show.
