Following the success of the Hometown Hops Beer Festival, which drew nearly 140 attendees, The Brick will host its first patio wine tasting Saturday, May 9, 5 to 7 p.m.

Tim Hoban of Indianapolis’ World of Wines has set aside eight of his company’s spring selections to be featured at the tasting. Varieties include a moscato, frizzante, viognier, rose, lambrusco, pinot noir, tempranillo and malbec.

5 to 7 p.m. May 9, 2015
The Brick, 1145 Northside Blvd., South Bend
Tickets: $20 in advance, $30 at the door

Kiernan Cressy Anzelc, director of communications at The Brick, said the event will include antipasto platters from Oh, Mamma’s in South Bend and other assorted appetizers.

“Because it’s our first event, we’re still trying to figure out what’s popular,” Anzelc said. “Hopefully, if there’s a lot of interest, we’ll do it again soon with live music.”

The tasting’s capacity will be limited to 75 guests.  Depending on weather, the event could be moved indoors. Advance tickets are $20 and can be purchased online or at The Brick during operating hours. If still, available, tickets at the door will be $30.
