Local breweries will band together for an afternoon of beer sampling on the banks of the St. Joseph River later this month.
The festival, which marks the 200th event hosted by The Brick, will take place on April 25.
2 to 5 p.m. April 25, 2015
The Brick, 1145 Northside Blvd., South Bend
Tickets: $30 in advance, $35 at the door
“I just thought it’d be something that would be a good fit for The Brick,” said the restaurant’s manager, Keith Fritz. “They have some bigger stuff in the area at the Century Center and up in Grand Rapids, so we didn’t want to do anything too crazy, but still focus on the regional and local breweries because so many of them are springing up.”
Samples will be provided by Iechyd Da Brewing Company, South Bend Brew Werks, Crooked Ewe Brewery and Ale House, Bare Hands Brewery, Burn ’Em Brewing, Greenbush Brewing Company, New Holland Brewing and Bell’s Brewery.
Fort Wayne folk-rockers James and the Drifters will play at the event. Chesterton’s Hungry Inc. food truck is scheduled to be parked and pushing its all-natural products, including homemade sandwiches, salads, soups, tacos and wraps.
“We’ll always support the local beer culture,” said Fritz. “For us, this is kind of a, ‘Let’s give it a try and see how it goes,’ and if everything turns out well and we’re happy with the results, then it’s something that we could and would do annually.”
