Easter 2015: What restaurants are open on Easter Sunday?

During the Easter season, visiting relatives and the stresses of hosting make dining out an easy option.

While many businesses opt to close shop on Easter Sunday, April 5, in observance of the Christian holiday, a few area restaurants will be welcoming patrons for post-mass brunches and hearty Easter suppers.

What restaurants are open for Easter?

American Pancake House and Restaurant, three area locations

  • Town and Country Shopping Centre, 1008 W. McKinley, Mishawaka, 574-256-7220

  • All locations open 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Amish Acres, 1600 W. Market St., Nappanee

  • Buffet served 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Menu items include bean soup, country broasted chicken, cider baked ham, roast beef, baked bread, apple butter, mash potatoes and giblet gravy, green beans, sage stuffing, beef and noodles and an assortment of fresh pies.
  • Adults $18.95, children ages 4 to 12 $1.25 per year of age.

Bent Oak Golf Course, 3610 Bent Oak Trail, Elkhart

  • Brunch served 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Menu includes (but is not limited to) salad bar, seafood, chicken, steaks and desserts. 

Cafe Navarre, 101 N. Michigan St., South Bend

  • Brunch served 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Brunch items include smoked salmon, steak and eggs, quiche, ham, cheese and fruit plates, eggs benedict and more.
  • Dinner served 4 to 9 p.m.
  • Dinner items include grilled lamb chops, steak frites, roasted chicken, pork belly Benedict, and poached lobster tail salad, among others.

Callahan’s Restaurant, 2917 Cassopolis St., Elkhart

  • Family dining open 24 hours, breakfast served all day.
  • Menu includes American, Greek and and Italian fare, in addition to pies and cakes.
  • Easter menu has yet to be determined.

Christiana Creek Country Club, 116 W. Bristol St., Elkhart

  • Brunch buffet with seating times at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.
  • Buffet items include carved bone-in ham, turkey breast, baked tilapia, creamed corn, herb crusted chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, broccoli salad, Caesar salad, tossed salad, Italian pasta, fresh fruit tray, vegetable tray, scrambled eggs with cheese, applewood bacon, sausage links, diced potatoes, biscuits and gravy, French toast, assorted pastries and desserts.
  • Adults $16.95, children ages 10 and under $8.50
  • Reservations are required.

East Bank Emporium, 121 S. Niles Ave., South Bend

  • Select chef specials served 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Entrees include a traditional ham dinner, prime rib, boneless pork chop, flat-iron steak, salmon and Greek chicken.
  • Prices range between $18 and $28 

Fiddler’s Hearth, 127 N. Main St., South Bend

  • Brunch buffet served 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Buffet items include ham, leg of lamb, seafood, stuffed eggs, breakfast meats, coffee, tea and juice.
  • Adults $20, children ages 12 and under $14

Granite City Food and Brewery, 6501 Grape Road, Mishawaka

  • Brunch buffet served 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Buffet items include prime rib, eggs, French toast, waffles, thick cut bacon, sausage, Reggiano potatoes, fresh fruit, RumChata and pastries.
  • Adults $21.95, children ages 5 to 12 $6.95, under 5 free

Granma’s House of Pancakes, 3709 S. Main St., Elkhart

  • Open  5:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

Honkers, 211 E. Day Road, Mishawaka

  • Brunch buffet served 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Buffet items include eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs (fiesta-style available), baked ham, sausage links, bacon, French toast sticks, breakfast potatoes, strawberry crepes, biscuits and gravy, fruit, muffins, bagels, pot roast, roasted turkey, polish sausage, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cheesy broccoli, salads, relish tray, sage dressing and a 60-foot long dessert table. One beverage is included in buffet price.
  • Adults $15.99, children ages 4 to 10, $9.99, 3 and under free

  • Traditional Chinese cuisine.
  • Both locations open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Javier’s Bistro, 2007 Miami St., South Bend

  • A la carte brunch begins at 7 a.m.
  • Brunch buffet 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m
  • Buffet items include carved petite tenders and ham, Puerto Rican rice, cod with walnut cream sauce, pasta bar, fruit and dessert display.
  • Harpist Elizabeth Carpenter is will perform beginning at noon. 

The Mark Dine & Tap, 1234 N. Eddy St., South Bend

  • Open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Easter menu has yet to be determined.

McCarthy’s on the Riverwalk, 333 NIBCO Pkwy., Elkhart

  • Brunch buffet served 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Buffet items include carved roast beef, sugar-glazed ham, cod, egg casserole (hashbrowns, eggs, onion, cheese, bacon), stuffed French toast, biscuits and sausage gravy, salad bar, pasta bar and dessert bar.
  • Adults $24.95, children 12 and under $9.95
  • Bloody Marys and mimosas available at additional charge.

Morris Inn, 1399 N. Notre Dame Ave., South Bend

  • Brunch buffet served 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Brunch items include meats at three carving stations, salads, assorted sides and desserts. A choice of mimosa or sparkling wine is included.

  • Ham dinner with choice of two sides, a slice of pie and beverage.
  • Sides include broccoli, corn, green beans with bacon, baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, apple sauce and side salads.
  • Pies include French silk, coconut and lemon meringue, among others.
