Festivities kick off at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 14, with the greening of the Elkhart River. The Elkhart Fire Department will be present for the annual dumping of the dye, which has been approved by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, according to a news release.
Guinness and green beer will flow at McCarthy’s all day, along with live music by Drop the Dawg from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., with a special appearance by the Irish Pipers bagpipe ensemble.
On St. Patrick’s Day, Tuesday, March 17, the restaurant welcomes back the Irish Pipers and acoustic duo JennyLane, scheduled to perform from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The restaurant will feature an expanded Irish menu from Friday, March 13, through Tuesday, March 17. Entrees include Irish favorites like corned beef and cabbage, and the Loaded Leprechaun shepherd’s pie with corned beef and bacon, as well as special creations like a stout sirloin marinated in Guinness, or roasted salmon marinated in honey and Irish whiskey with white wine cream sauce.
