March is a long month and a busy month and, in northern Indiana, there are a few sure signs of spring in March: daylight saving time, Hoosier Hysteria and, in the land of the Fighting Irish — St. Patrick’s Day celebration. All of that and more is on our radar after the first full week of March.
Whether you dream of an endless buffet of corned beef and cabbage, or green beer for the over-21 crowd is more your style, there are plenty of ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in northern Indiana. St. Patrick’s Day is Tuesday, March 17, but celebrations start as early as Friday, March 13.

As it turns out, there’s more for a vegan at Woochi Japanese Fusion and Bar than just sushi.

Vegan at the Bend community blogger Rama Ganesan shared dinner with a friend, sampling drinks, appetizers and main dishes — teriyaki eggplant and bean curd country style.
With more than 20 sections on the menu, Rama noted a section lists vegan entrees to make navigating the dishes easier for diners with special dietary needs.
Launched on March 2, the program partners with restaurants to help others in need. Upon purchase of some items at any of the five restaurants, a direct portion is donated to a charity of the customer’s choosing.
