Free pretzels — what more do you need to know? OK, maybe you need to know how to get them.
Ben’s Soft Pretzels is giving away free pretzels from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the Goshen store at 1202 W. Pike St.
You enter the front doors, walk up to the counter and ask for a pretzel. That’s all there is to it. You’re going to have to pay for dipping sauces and drinks but, come on, are you really going to argue when they’re handing out free food?
The event is a chance for Ben’s Soft Pretzels to give back to the area which gave the business its start, said marketing director Jillian Koeneman. Ben’s opened its first bakery at Concord Mall in Elkhart seven years ago, and now has 34 stores across Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin and Florida.

“It’s a great way for members of the community to come and try a Ben’s Soft Pretzel firsthand, and it’s a great way to reward current customers we see on a weekly basis,” Koeneman said.
With Ben’s Soft Pretzels looking to open 50 more stores this year, the giveaway also gives them a chance to introduce new franchisees to the work environment and customers, she said.
And if you miss out on your free pretzel today, don’t worry. Koeneman said Ben’s Soft Pretzels has free giveaways at least four times a year.
