Valentine’s Day is still a few weeks away, but reservations are going fast at local eateries.
Artisan, the new high-end restaurant at 505 S. Main St., will be a hot spot Feb. 14. Tables for two are still available — but only at 9:30 p.m. or later.
- MAKE RESERVATIONS: Call the restaurant at 574-355-3355.
Don’t mind the late dinner? Wine and Canvas is sure to keep you entertained with a paint brush and cocktail in the meantime.
The Elkhart studio, located at 409 S. Main St., is offering two “Date Night” specials from 7-10 p.m. Feb. 14 to mark the holiday.
A painting is spread over two canvases and each person paints half of it. The two canvases can then be hung together to create a single picture.
Spots are still open in the “Ode to 50 Shades” class, where participants will paint a picture with wine, a mask and a tie — a reference to the romance novel and film “Fifty Shades of Grey.”
Couples can also choose to paint “Love Tree” which features a tree limb with hearts as leaves and two love birds perched on a branch.
The cost of each session is $35 per person. Wine, beer, cocktails and other beverages are available for purchase.
- MAKE RESERVATIONS: Visit Wine and Canvas online or call 574-807-1562.
Stash your paintings somewhere safe to allow them to dry, and walk one block south to find your table at Artisan.
Heads up: dinner may be pricey. The tasting menu is $60, with an additional $50 for wine pairings, and the average check comes out around $80. But Yelp reviewers and Flavor 574 food critic Marshall King say it’s worth it (look for Marshall’s review in Monday’s edition of The Elkhart Truth).
