After a fire at Texas Roadhouse Friday night, Dec. 19, the restaurant hopes to be repair and re-open in time for the new year.

Firefighters were called to the restaurant at 2015 Brittany Court in Elkhart at about 6:50 p.m. Friday and found flames and smoke in the kitchen hood exhaust area and smoke in the attic.

Guests and staff were evacuated and nobody was injured, but the restaurant was closed because of the damage, according to a news release from spokeswoman Kym Voorhees Raque.

Texas Roadhouse is undergoing repairs with the goal to be open on Tuesday, Dec. 30, Raque said.

A shed located next to the restaurant will continue to sell gift cards for the restaurant from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.
