If you’re planning a date night this Saturday, Nov. 15, Dowagiac is the place to go.

Start the night off at Wood Fire, an Italian eatery located at 134 South Front St. Its menu features antipasti, salads, traditional and specialty pastas, hand-tossed wood fire pizzas and more. Most dishes range from $11 to $23. It also offers a bar and lounge.

Once you’ve each had your fill of food and drink, head over to The Beckwith Theatre Company to see “Escanaba in Love,” a romantic comedy for the stage by Jeff Daniels.

The prequel to “Escanaba in da Moonlight” takes place at the Soady deer camp during World War II and follows the romance of young hunter Albert Soady, Jr., and the legendary Big Betty Balou.

The play starts at 7:30 p.m. at 100 New York Ave., Dowagiac. Tickets are $10 each and can be reserved by calling 269-782-7653.
