New cocktail series at McCarthy's teaches how to make classic drinks
McCarthy’s on the Riverwalk bartender Wally Ruston is hosting a special cocktail series for people interested in what goes into the art of mixing drinks.
Attendees at the first event, Wednesday, Nov. 12, will learn how to make three classic drinks from the 1880s era.
This is the first event in the restaurant’s Classic Cocktail series, manager Phyllis Kelich said. The series will pick back up in January with subjects like the Prohibition era and specific liquors.
Kelich wouldn’t divulge exactly which three drinks attendees will learn how to make on Wednesday, but she did say that Ruston is full of information on the subject and “there’s just not much he doesn’t know.”
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person and include the lesson and three drinks.
Purchase tickets in advance by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 574-293-2830. Tickets can also be purchased at the door.
