South Bend First Friday: Downtown Flavor
South Bend restaurants will join in the city’s First Friday festivities with Downtown Flavor Stops on Friday, Nov. 7, 5 to 9 p.m. Each participating restaurant will feature a special menu item to sample for $5 or less.
Stops include Chicory Cafe, which will be offering a small plate of Jambalaya, LaSalle Kitchen & Tavern with its “Ultimate Umami Tasting” plate and Purple Porch Co-op, which will be serving hot apple cider and pumpkin muffins.
Other participating restaurants include Smoothies, Crepes and More; Ciao’s, Bruno’s Pizza, Swolfies and Swolfies Downtown House of Blues, The View, South Bend Brew Werks and CJ’s Pub.
Rise Up Harvest Fest
Rise Up Farms is celebrating another successful growing season with a festival for the whole family. There will be live music from local bands, plenty of games and activities for kids and chili made with ingredients straight from the farm.
The party will be held at the farm’s barn at 22600 State Road 120, Elkhart, on Saturday, Nov. 8, and the festivities will run from 5 to 10 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults and free for children, and dinner costs $5 for adults and $3 for kids.
Goshen Historical Society Wine Tasting
Sip local wines and help preserve civic heritage at the Goshen Historical Society wine tasting fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 8. The annual event will be held at Gateway Cellar Winery at 211 S. Main St. in downtown Goshen and will run from 6 to 8 p.m.
The event includes wine samples, appetizers, door prizes and a silent auction. Proceeds will benefit Goshen Historical Society projects. Tickets cost $15 and include a commemorative wine glass. To purchase tickets, call 574-975-0033 or pay at the door.
