My short and sweet version: Eat Smart. Be Well. is a health and wellness blog embracing nourishing foods and an active and balanced lifestyle. My goal is to share with you my tips, advice and recipes to make eating smart and being well as easy as possible!
Now my long and detailed version: Eat Smart. Be Well. is a new partnership between Martin’s Super Markets and Beacon Health System to help provide shoppers and the community with access to relevant nutrition information, resources and tools to help achieve healthier lifestyles. I provide health and wellness services within all 21 of Martin’s Super Markets stores. You can learn more about those program details here!
A little bit about myself and my background: I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Certified Intrinsic Coach and a Certified Personal Trainer. I am passionate about living a healthy lifestyle and sharing my knowledge with others. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and completed my dietetic internship at Purdue University (Go Boilers! However I grew up in this area with a IU and Notre Dame loving family as well!).
I am also a member of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as well as current President of the Northern Indiana Dietetic Association. My training has equipped me with knowledge in the field of nutrition, preventative health, fitness and health coaching.
Along my personal health journey (which includes both ups and downs), I have learned firsthand the benefits of eating a plant based diet and living an active and balanced lifestyle. It has definitely made me into the woman and Dietitian I am today. I hope the advice I share gives you the encouragement and confidence you need to meet your own health goals.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking, trying new foods (even the greenest of green smoothies doesn’t scare me!), gardening and yoga. My mission is to help the community be a healthier place by spreading nutritional truth and sharing my passion with others. This blog allows me the opportunity to reach out and share with all of you amazing people how easy it can be to Eat Smart and Be Well!
