Michigan ranked fourth on list of best states for beer

Michigan has some of the best beer in America, according to a list compiled by ranking states by their beer offerings.

Michigan’s annual hooplah surrounding the summer release of Bell’s Oberon and the state’s sheer volume of breweries (two for every 100,000 adults) are two of the reasons Thrillist gives for placing the state at number four.

Indiana comes in at number 18, in part because Three Floyds Brewing Company in Munster, Shoreline Brewery in Michigan City and Upland Brewing Co. in Bloomington make the state “impossible to ignore.”

Number one on the list is Oregon and coming in dead last is Mississippi.

Check out the entire list here.

What do you think — does Michigan deserve to place 12 spots above Indiana on the beer hierarchy?
