Taste of Dowagiac highlights local restaurants

Visitors to downtown Dowagiac Friday evening will have the perfect opportunity to get a taste of the town’s local flavor, as nine local restaurants open their doors for the Taste of Dowagiac, 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 25.

Participating eateries will offer a variety of specialties in hors d’oeuvre-sized samples.

Tickets are $10 each and available at each restaurant or the Greater Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce.

The event is part of Summer in the City, a four-day downtown Dowagiac festival lasting from Thursday, July 24, through Sunday, July 27.

Locations for Taste of Dowagiac include:

  • Beeson Street Bar & Grill 
    What: A traditional American restaurant serving burger, salads, soups and sandwiches
    Where: 105 Beeson St.
  • Mimi Sarducci’s
    What: A burger, pizza, hot dog and Italian sandwich joint.
    Where: 203 N. Front St.
  • Caruso’s Candy & Soda Shop
    What: Lunch, ice cream and homemade chocolates.
    Where: 103 S. Front St.
  • Saylor’s Pizza
    What: This pizza shop also offers sandwiches, pasta, appetizers and dinner items like rib tips and wings.

  • Deb’s Café
    What: American-style serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

  • Trackside Family Restaurant
    What: Family-style breakfast, burgers and sandwiches.

    What: Recently advertised offerings include grilled pork steak and Indian tacos.
