The View Tavern's Becky Burger wins Northern Indiana Burger Wars

The best burger in northern Indiana is a classic standard from one of St. Joseph County’s hometown bars.

The Becky Burger from The View Tavern in South Bend was voted the best burger in northern Indiana after several rounds of voting in Northern Indiana Burger Wars.

The burger features two beef patties, American and Swiss cheeses, BBQ sauce, grilled onion and bacon on a sesame bun.

The Becky Burger beat out the Stella Moo from Flippin’ Cow in Elkhart 63 percent to 37 percent.

Burger Wars began in May, when voters decided which burger in their hometowns would go on to represent their county for the regional competition.

From there, eight burgers from Elkhart, St. Joseph, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Marshall, LaPorte and Porter counties went head to head in the tournament.

The View Tavern is located at 515 E. Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend. It’s open from 11 a.m. to midnight Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. Tuesday, Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. to midnight on Sunday.
