Self-serve fro-yo lovers have a new spot in Elkhart
Elkhart’s newest ice cream destination is now open. Twisted Cow, next to Wing’s Etc. at 105 W. C.R. 6 in Elkhart, offers frozen yogurt and gelato and will have ice cream and custard in the near future.
Co-owner Rose Miller said she and her husband, Mark, opened the doors of the store quietly Wednesday night, May 21.
The shop will open at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and could open at noon Friday, depending on how Thursday goes, Miller said.
The couple hopes to open at noon all weekend. Starting Monday, regular hours will be noon to 11 p.m. weekdays and noon to midnight on weekends.
Hours are flexible — “we will stay open as long as we have customers,” Miller said.
Frozen yogurt and gelato flavors will rotate, but right now the shop is offering strawberry sensation, dreamy dark chocolate, chocolate-dipped strawberry, caramel sea salt pretzel, espresso, macchiato, Tahitian vanilla, watermelon sorbet and others.
Prices are 45 cents per ounce, and Miller said the average customer will pay about $3.50 for a frozen treat.
