A new pizza chain is coming to Elkhart, and it’s one of the nation’s fastest-growing.
The carry-out/delivery-only store will be operated by franchisee Helena Monroe, of Kalamazoo, Mich., said Strawbridge, operating partner for the St. Joseph, Mich. store that Monroe owns.
Jet’s is known for its square-shaped deep dish pizza, which is made with dough and sauce that’s prepared fresh daily and never frozen, and cheese that is shredded at the store daily.
“That’s kind of like what we like to brag about,” Strawbridge said. “Everything we do is made the day of.”
Jet’s, with the motto, “Life is Short, Eat Better Pizza,” has grown from 137 stores in 2009 to 316 last year, a 130-percent increase. It was the nation’s 14th-largest pizza chain last year, but it ranked No. 2 in overall score among all chains in Nation’s Restaurant News 2014 Consumer Picks report. Jet’s took top scores for food quality, reputation, “craveability,” likely to recommend and likely to return.
Jet’s also features wings, salads, subs and boats, which wrap ingredients up in a dough shell.
Strawbridge said Monroe has no connection to the franchisee that owns the Jet’s Pizza in Mishawaka at 4123 Grape Road.
