Celebrate spring with the Maple Syrup Festival and other events
Spring is finally here!
Here are several events for you to celebrate the changing of the seasons, from festivals in Wakarusa to benefit runs in Elkhart.
Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival
Bring your appetite to the 45th annual Wakarusa Maple Syrup Festival at 100 W. Waterford St. in Wakarusa. The event will include a parade, a circus, musical performances and, of course, delicious maple syrup and pancakes. Attendees can also participate in a number of contests at the event, including a baking competition which requires your dish to have 100-percent pure maple syrup as an ingredient.

The 42nd annual ADEC Ride-A-Bike will take cyclists on a ride through scenic routes along as the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail on May 17, 2014 at Northridge High School in Middlebury. The ride will begin and end at the high school. If you work up an appetite along the route, there will be several stops along the way offering snacks.
Organizers suggest that individuals make a minimum pledge of $30 and families make a pledge of $60. The proceeds from the event will go towards ADEC Inc.’s services for people living with developmental and cognitive disabilities.

Goshen College’s Graduation Day
The commencement ceremony for Goshen College students will be held at the Roman Gingerich Recreation-Fitness Center in Goshen on Sunday, April 27.

Two Rivers Meet race
The Two Rivers Meet race will see runners participating in either one mile, 5K, 10K or 15K runs on May 24 beginning at the Civic Plaza in downtown Elkhart. There’s also a run for kids too, which is approximately 400 yards. The routes go through three parks and along the river. The race will benefit Lifeline summer camp programs.
